You never know how much betrayal hurts until you've been betrayed. And the funny thing about it is, you never see it coming. Or, if you do, you play ignorant. "Not this time," You laugh. "This time it's different. It has to be." But in the end it isn't different. In the end it's still your heart shattering into a million tiny pieces. And in the end, you were the one made a fool of. Again. And the betrayers get away with it, laughing and going on their happy way, leaving you in the dust, in the corner of a cold room, standing there alone, left to your heartache and the little voice in the back of your mind, yelling at you that it was your fault, and you did something wrong. Of course, it had to be you. It had to be something YOU did. "I'm not good enough!" you yell to your shadows, to your reflection. "I was never good enough." And then the fight drains out of you and you're left with this huge hole in the center of your emotional being, where all of that love and care once dwelt. And now in that place, betrayal thrives, cold and hard and black. And in the end, you're alone once more. Yet the world keeps spinning and life keeps moving, and time keeps ticking away. Soon betrayal is so normal, that the pain ebbs away. You get used to it being there. And then someone comes along, and hope starts to eat away at betrayal. And if you're unlucky enough, the person--that someone--may earn your love and care...just for the cycle to start again.

What really sucks is when you don't even hit the boyfriend/girlfriend part. Or when it isn't even about boyfriend/girlfriend relationships.
So.....
It'll get better my dear. It really will.
